Welcome to Tunstead cottages in peaceful rural Norfolk.
Enjoy the peace of the Norfolk countryside. Our dog friendly cottages, with indoor swimming pool (all formerly part of Randall’s Cottages) are on the outskirts of Tunstead. Close to the Norfolk Broads and the coast, yet only 30 minutes from the fine city of Norwich. A perfect base from which to explore Norfolk’s attractions and enjoy walking, cycling, canoeing, sailing, birdwatching, visiting nature reserves and stately homes. Or just messing about on the beach with friends and family.
Our cottages offer comfortable dog friendly accommodation, with access to heated indoor swimming pool and games room. Both have parking for two cars and are single storey. Travel cots can be provided. The Stables sleeps six with one king sized bedroom with en-suite shower room. Another king-size room and a twin room (with the option to make these into a super king-size) share the family bathroom. The large central communal area provides kitchen and dining space plus a large lounge. The Granary sleeps five in one twin (with an option to make them into a super king-size bed), one double and one single bedroom. There is a family bathroom with shower. The living area is also open plan. Both cottages have fully equipped kitchens.

Our self catering, dog friendly Norfolk cottage, The Granary is next to the Stables and also has a private wicker fenced patio, furnished for al fresco meals, or just to unwind after a day messing about on boats.
Tunstead Cottages are at Old Farm on the outskirts of Tunstead village. In a peaceful part of rural Norfolk with views of the big Norfolk skies, farmland and fruit fields. The Horse and Groom at Tunstead is close by as is the Crown at Smallburgh.
We are only five miles from Wroxham ‘the Capital of the Broads’ with shops takeaways restaurants and pubs, plus many boat hire venues. The pretty village of Coltishall on the river Bure is close by too.
The coastal paths for long walks are nearby, and the pretty seaside towns of Cromer, Sheringham and Mundesley. There are plenty of sandy beaches to choose from on the whole of the Norfolk coast. Seal watching boat trips can be booked from Blakeney or Morston.
Norfolk wildlife Trust has reserves on the North Norfolk coast at Cley and Salthouse Marshes and five sites actually in the Norfolk Broads National Park. All are perfect for birdwatching or just beautiful spaces for long walks to clear the mind and refresh the soul. National Trust’s Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall are both about 25 mins drive.
Holkham Hall is slightly further towards the coast, but worth a trip even if just for the iconic beautiful stretch of beach there. Steam enthusiasts can get their fix at Sheringham and Holt’s Poppy line or Aylsham and Wroxham’s narrow gauge Bure Valley railway – you can even go on a steam train driving course there!
Our countryside cottages are so conveniently placed for enjoying the Norfolk Broads and are also handy for the children’s attractions of Bewilderwood and Wroxham barns, both are just a few minutes away. Norwich with its Castle museum, Cathedral, the Sainsbury’s Centre for visual Arts and a wonderful collection of independent shops, cafes and restaurants in ‘the lanes’ is most definitely worth a day’s visit.
